      • "description": "German consumer sentiment improves for a second month in April, driven by higher income expectations and lower savings, but remains weak amid ongoing recession fears, GfK and NIM report.",
      • "content": "Germany's consumer confidence improved for a second consecutive month in April, although sentiment remains muted amid persistent economic headwinds, according to the latest GfK Consumer Climate survey powered by NIM. The forward-looking consumer climate index forecasts a rise of 3.7 points to -20.6 for May 2025, compared with -24.3 in April, marking the best reading since early 2024 but still deeply negative. The monthly survey, published by GfK and the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions (NIM), highlights that rising income expectations and a lower propensity to save have helped lift sentiment, even as broader economic expectations improved only marginally. A significant drop in the willingness to save supported the overall improvement in consumer sentiment. After two months of increases, the savings indicator fell by 5.4 points to 8.4 in April. Analysts attribute the drop largely to diminishing political uncertainty following the successful coalition talks that paved the way for a functioning German government. \"The realignment of the US administration’s trade policy has not yet left a sustained mark on German consumers' mood,\" said Rolf Bürkl, consumer expert at NIM. \"Instead, the swift resolution of political deadlock at home seems to have reduced a key driver of uncertainty, softening households’ precautionary savings behaviour.\" The income expectations index rose for a second consecutive month, gaining 7.4 points to reach 4.3 — the highest level since October 2024. Although still 6.4 points below its level a year ago, the improvement reflects stronger prospects for disposable income, boosted by a new public sector wage deal. Under the agreement, public sector workers will see a three percent pay rise from April 1, with a guaranteed minimum uplift of €110 per month, followed by a further 2.8 percent increase in May 2026. With inflation currently running just above two percent, the deal should support real incomes and purchasing power. Echoing the positive trend in income sentiment, the willingness to buy indicator climbed 3.3 points to -4.9. Though still negative, it marks a sustained recovery from the lows seen at the start of 2023, when the index stood at -18.7. Nonetheless, the survey warns that future gains hinge on inflation remaining stable near the European Central Bank’s two percent target. Any re-emergence of uncertainty, particularly if global trade tensions escalate, could derail the fragile upward trend in consumer demand. Economic expectations rose modestly for the third month in a row, gaining 0.3 points to reach 7.2 in April. This relative resilience comes despite fresh downward revisions to Germany’s growth outlook, with the economy now facing a third consecutive year of contraction — an unprecedented event in the post-war era. Markets have so far shrugged off the mixed consumer data. By 9:40 CET, the euro was down 0.2% at 1.14 against the dollar, while European equities gained ground. The Euro STOXX 50 rose 0.5%, Germany's DAX added 0.7%, and Italy's FTSE MIB outperformed, climbing 1.5%. Among German equities, Rheinmetall AG, Deutsche Bank and MTU Aero Engines led the gains, rising 5.6%, 4.1% and 2.7%, respectively. Conversely, Deutsche Börse, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz were among the laggards, falling by 5%, 4.8% and 1.3%.",

      • "description": "In an interview with Euronews, EPP President Manfred Weber warned of an authoritarian wave in Europe, pledging never to cooperate with far-right parties like France's National Rally or Germany’s AfD, whom he accused of threatening European unity and democratic values.",
      • "content": "With the European People's Party (EPP) Congress under way in Valencia, where state and party leaders are set to gather, the party's President Manfred Weber cautioned against the authoritarian wave arriving in Europe, pledging to firmly reject any formal alliance with parties he sees as extremist. \"The main competitors for us for the coming years are the populists and extremists. We are facing an authoritarian wave all over the world, and it is also coming and arriving in Europe,\" Weber told Euronews. \"I work together with serious (parties), but with those who are really taking Europe into question, like (Alice) Weidel and AfD or (Marine) Le Pen, there is no cooperation possible at all. That's our fundamental belief and people can count on this,\" he pointed out. However, Weber remains open to working with other right-wing parties, such as Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy or Petr Fiala of the Czech Republic and his ODS, both of whom are part of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group. \"We are ready to include the serious conservative parties in Europe. For example, Giorgia Meloni showed in Italy, together with Antonio Tajani, that they are credible, that they are centre-based,\" he said. \"Petr Fiala in the Czech Republic is fighting against Andrej Babiš and is a conservative politician and he should be part of a team, a broader team on a European level.\" When asked whether the EPP had shifted to the right, Weber rejected the suggestion, instead emphasising the party’s commitment to democratic principles and voter engagement. \"Our message is listening to people, leading, and then also delivering,\" he said, while acknowledging the growing appeal of populist movements across Europe. Rather than seeking common ground with populists, Weber is choosing to confront them head-on, advocating instead for a strong, coherent vision for Europe’s future. He emphasised the need for a renewed narrative in a world where the US is no longer the dominant global anchor and Europe is increasingly expected to assume more responsibility. \"The biggest party of Europe must provide Europe exactly with this way of thinking,\" he said. What Weber sees as erratic behaviour from the Trump administration came during JD Vance's speech at the Munich Security Conference, where the US vice president disparaged the European Union's \"commissars\" of suppressing free speech. “Under Donald Trump’s leadership, we may disagree with your views, but we will defend your right to offer it in the public square – agree or disagree,\" Vance said. Weber disagreed with this approach. \"We don't follow Vice President Vance's consideration. That everything is allowed. No, in Europe, not everything is allowed. You cannot lie, you cannot give hate speeches there, he explained. \"You cannot be antisemitic in today's world in Europe.\" In Valencia, Weber aims to present his vision for the future of the continent – one rooted in the rule of law and European values. \"We do it this European way. We also do it based on rule of law, like the Geneva Convention, like respecting the asylum right in Europe. We are doing it not like the populist and extremist way. So that's our middle ground, in a way – the serious centre-right party who is providing answers in today's world.\" Following the June 2024 EU elections, the EPP secured 19.7% of the vote – a result Weber described as a mandate. \"Here in Spain, in Hungary, in Germany, in Finland, they voted, and they decided to stop the period of a left, liberal-driven agenda and (are) now coming back to a centre-right driven agenda. That's normal in democracy.\" For Weber, the path ahead is clear. \"What is a bigger problem is that when people vote for another European Parliament, for a centre-wide European Parliament, things must change. It cannot continue as the left wishes to see, that then we continue as nothing happens.\" Still, he acknowledges that no party can go it alone. \"We have a mandate to lead, but we do this together with the others, with the liberals, with the socialists, and also with the conservative voters who are committed to be part of a European process. We have a common responsibility as Democrats on the European level,\" Weber said.",

      • "description": "HSBC has announced a multibillion-dollar share buyback plan despite a decline in profits and revenue. The bank stated that economic uncertainties are weighing on business growth, expecting a low single-digit percentage direct impact on group revenue.",
      • "content": "Europe’s largest bank, HSBC Holdings Plc, has announced a fresh share repurchase programme of up to $3 billion (€2.6 billion) for the first half of 2025 as it reported its first-quarter earnings results on Tuesday. HSBC shares rose by 2.28% as of 09:30 CEST in London. However, the UK-based lender reported a pre-tax profit of $9.5 billion (€8.4 billion) for the first quarter, down 25% from a year earlier, despite beating the company-compiled estimate of $7.8 billion (€6.9 billion). The bank noted that the profit was driven by a strong performance in the Wealth business within its International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) division, its Hong Kong operations, and the foreign exchange division. The Board has also approved an interim dividend of $0.10 (€0.09) per share. Chief Executive Officer Georges Elhedery stated in the earnings announcement: “Our strong results this quarter demonstrate momentum in our earnings, discipline in the execution of our strategy and confidence in our ability to deliver our targets. We continue to support our customers through this period of economic uncertainty and market unpredictability, which we enter from a position of financial strength.” Elhedery, who assumed the role in September last year, has been driving cost-cutting efforts. Last year, the bank announced plans to merge two of its three major divisions—commercial banking and investment banking (the global banking and markets division). The restructuring involves dividing operations between an “Eastern Markets” branch, combining Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, and a “Western Markets” branch, comprising the non-ring-fenced UK bank, European markets, and North America. HSBC expects the reorganisation to deliver cost savings of $300 million (€264 million) this year. However, severance and other up-front costs are forecast to reach $1.8 billion (€1.6 billion) over 2025 and 2026. HSBC’s largest market is Asia, making the bank particularly vulnerable to tensions arising from the US-China trade war. Its share price plunged as much as 20% after President Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on 3 April, before rebounding 17% amid the recent broad market rally following the White House’s shift in tariff stance. Year-to-date, the stock is up 7.3% as of market close in Europe on Monday. In its outlook, the bank stated: “The macroeconomic environment is facing heightened uncertainty, in particular from protectionist trade policies, creating volatility in both economic forecasts and financial markets and adversely impacting consumer and business sentiment.” In the first three months of the year, HSBC reported revenue of $17.6 billion (€15.5 billion), down 26% from a year earlier. The annualised return on average tangible equity (RoTE) was 17.9%, compared with 26.1% in the first quarter of 2024. The bank expects demand for lending to remain muted in 2025 amid continued uncertainty and market turmoil. It anticipates a low single-digit percentage direct impact on the group’s revenue and approximately $0.5 billion (€0.44 billion) in incremental expected credit losses. “We have assessed plausible downside scenarios that model significantly higher tariffs, and related impacts on growth, policy rates, and inflation on our earnings,” the bank noted. Nonetheless, HSBC maintains a positive longer-term outlook, forecasting mid-single-digit percentage growth over the medium to long term and continuing to expect double-digit percentage average annual growth in fees and other income in its Wealth business.",

      • "description": "As German chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz hints at a change in policy on the transfer of Taurus missiles to Kyiv, unfounded claims are circulating that the Trump administration could block the move.",
      • "content": "A raft of social media posts have surfaced on X, TikTok and Telegram claiming that the US administration is prohibiting Germany from providing Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, reportedly because they contain American critical materials. Euroverify investigated these claims, but found no evidence to date to corroborate them. The Taurus KEPD-350 missile is a long-range cruise missile more sophisticated than those already provided to Ukraine by the US, France and the UK. It can hit targets as far as 500km away — more than double the range of the cruise missiles Ukraine currently has — and could allow Kyiv to strike targets deep within Russian territory. The missile also travels at a low altitde, making it extremely difficult for radar systems to detect. Produced by German-Swedish entreprise Taurus Systems, the outgoing German coalition government headed by Olaf Scholz resisted international pressure to transfer the missiles from the inventory of the Bundeswehr to Ukraine's armed forces. Scholz, speaking in March last year, described the transfer of Taurus missiles as \"a line that I do not want to cross.\" But chancellor-in-waiting Friedrich Merz, set to be elected next week, has signalled he would be with the weapons. This prompted a sharp backlash from the Kremlin, whose foreign spokesperson Maria Zakharova said earlier this month that Russia would consider Taurus missile strikes on its \"critical transport infrastructure\" as \"direct\" German involvement in the Ukrainian conflict. Now, a raft of social media posts have been widely viewed on X, and Telegram claiming the Trump administration has moved to block any future German deliveries of Taurus missiles. One viewed more than half a million times claims that \"two American companies have informed Berlin through the State Department that they are prohibiting the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.\" We traced the to a known pro-Kremlin disinformation site. The posts circulating on X also come from known disinformation accounts. The claim was also by an independent Ukrainian outlet EuromaidanPR, which failed to name the source of the information. Euroverify reached out to the German Federal Ministry of Defence asking for clarity on the claims, and a spokesperson said that \"we do not comment on speculation.\" \"Furthermore (...) we would like to inform you that we do not comment on discussions with our partners,\" the spokesperson added. It remains unclear whether the incoming German government will move to provide Kyiv with the Tauruses. Whilst incoming chancellor Merz has expressed willingness, his coalition partners the Social Democratic Party, led by Scholz, remain sceptical. But there are no confirmed reports to date that the Trump administration has tried to block the move. Donald Trump has in the past said he \"disagrees very vehemently\" with using missiles to strike targets deep inside Russian territory. Yet, his administration recently resumed the delivery of military aid to Ukraine, which includes ATACMS long-range missiles.",

      • "content": "Taking the train is faster than flying for some short journeys within France, according to a new analysis. In 2023, France introduced a ban on domestic short-haul flights where there is a rail alternative of under two and a half hours. It was brought in to curb carbon emissions, but swapping a plane for a train could also be the cheaper and, it turns out, faster option. Research from Trainline compared five national journeys for which the air option is soon expected to disappear and found that some intercity trips are made twice as fast by choosing rail transport. Taking the train instead of a plane for journeys of 2.5 hours or less in France can mean significantly reducing travel time, according to Trainline figures. The rail booking company used its own data to calculate the times and cost, and data from airline booking comparison site Skyscanner for plane travel times and cost. The difference in travel times is mainly because opting for rail transport means avoiding lengthy security checks and waiting times required when taking a flight. “While the duration of the flight often seems advantageous, it does not reflect the (actual) duration of an air journey, including travel to the airport, waiting before boarding and security checks, possible delays related to checks and check-in,” Trainline said. Some intercity journeys in France can be almost twice as fast by as by plane, the research found. Rennes to Paris takes 3 hours 21 minutes by plane but only 1 hour 44 minutes by train, while Paris to Lyon takes 3 hours 37 minutes when flying and 2 hours 11 minutes by train. can also cut journey times because passengers are more likely to depart from and arrive in the city centre, whereas many airports require a transfer. “Train stations, ideally located in city centres and well-served by public transport, enable travellers to reduce the number of additional journeys,” Trainline said. “Even taking into account the 30-minute advance (arrival time) recommended by operators, this remains a more efficient option than flying, where remote infrastructures increase the total journey time.” Trainline figures also showed that the cost of train journeys can be much lower than , too. Flying is, on average, 1.8 times more expensive than the train. Travelling between Paris and Lyon by train means saving as much as €40, while Marseille to Lyon by train cuts travel costs by €41. The findings also appear to back up France’s decision to . The regulation, in theory, means that any journeys that are possible in less than two-and-a-half hours by train cannot be taken by plane, with the exception of connecting flights. The changes are part of France’s and were first proposed by France's Citizens' Convention on Climate - a tasked with finding ways to reduce the country's carbon emissions. The Trainline study found that the carbon footprint of trains can be 124 to 151 times lower than that of planes. This data takes into account the emissions emitted by these two modes of transport, as well as those used by the traveller to continue their journey. For example, the company calculated that a Paris to Lyon flight produces more than 90kg of CO2 per person, whereas the same journey by train only emits 0.690kg. In practice, however, the flight ban as dramatically. The French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) estimated that the new regulation could cut up to 55,000 tonnes of emissions, just .",

      • "content": "Dublin, Ireland--(Newsfile Corp. - April 29, 2025) - Cosmo Pharmaceuticals N.V. (SIX: COPN) announces that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) adopted a negative opinion on the marketing authorization application (MAA) for Winlevi® (clascoterone cream 1%) for the treatment of acne vulgaris. The opinion is principally based on the CHMP's negative benefit-risk assessment on the therapeutic use of Winlevi in adolescents (12 to 17 years of age), despite the fact that such an assessment is demonstrably positive in adults (18 years of age and older). It is plain that the CHMP opinion did not differentiate between these two demographic subsets of the population, probably in view of the fact that the initially submitted application for marketing authorization sought approval for treatment of acne vulgaris in patients from the age of 12 years. Cosmo will request a re-examination of the adopted opinion as it does not reflect the clinically meaningful and statistically significant beneficial effects of Winlevi in treating patients with acne vulgaris from 12 years and above based on the evidence derived from the two multi-centre, randomised, double-blind clinical trials, and the substantial safety characterization data to support a favorable benefit-risk assessment for the product to be used in adolescents and adults 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 . The safe and effective conditions of Winlevi are further supported by real-world evidence. In countries where Winlevi is already approved especially the United States where the product has been used safely in adolescents since its approval, no emerging safety concerns have been identified. The growing body of evidence continues to support a favorable benefit-risk balance of the product in adolescents and adults. Cosmo remains confident that Winlevi will serve as a potential treatment option for acne vulgaris which is a common chronic disease that may be associated with impairment of quality of life. Prof. Andrea Lania, Professor of Endocrinology, Humanitas University, commented: “As a clinician and researcher, I find the negative opinion difficult to understand given the robust clinical data supporting clascoterone. This is a therapy that has transformed acne management globally, with hundreds of thousands of patients treated. I support Cosmo's intention to appeal and hope the EMA will reconsider this decision in light of the full evidence.” Giovanni Di Napoli, CEO of Cosmo, added: “We are surprised and disappointed by the CHMP's opinion, particularly given the well-established safety and efficacy profile of clascoterone in both clinical trials and extensive real-world use in adolescents and adults. While we acknowledge the Committee's recognition of clinical value in adults, we made a deliberate and data-driven decision not to amend the proposed indication to exclude adolescents. This was not a tactical omission, but a principled stance based on robust global experience. In the United States alone, hundreds of thousands of adolescents have safely used Winlevi since approval, without any emerging safety concerns.” Cosmo believes the CHMP's current position does not reflect the totality of evidence supporting clascoterone across age groups and the urgent need for innovation in acne treatment, particularly for adolescents - the population most impacted by the condition. “We remain fully confident in the science behind Winlevi,” continued Di Napoli, “and we look forward to engaging constructively through the re-examination process to ensure that patients across Europe - regardless of age - can access this important therapeutic option.” Cosmo will continue to engage with the EMA throughout the re-examination process and will provide further updates in due course. About Winlevi® (clascoterone cream 1%) Winlevi is the first and only topical androgen receptor inhibitor for acne with a novel mechanism of action in almost 40 years. Winlevi has already been approved for use in both adults and adolescents in the United States, where it received FDA approval in 2020, and was subsequently approved by several other major regulatory agencies, including Health Canada, TGA (Australia) and was recently approved in the United Kingdom. To date, it has been prescribed to hundreds of thousands of patients globally and is widely regarded as a generally well tolerated and effective treatment option 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 . • "content": "Garrett Ainsworth, CEO of District, commented: \"With the current NI 43-101 Inferred and Indicated MRE the Viken Energy Metals Deposit is officially the second largest uranium deposit in the world 1 , and it also contains an immense inventory of important and critical raw materials that will be required for the green energy transition. The stunning growth of the current Viken MRE from the 2006 to 2012 drill data is a testament to the continuity in grade and thickness of the mineralized Alum Shale Formation found across the Viken Deposit. The possibility to increase the Inferred MRE at the Viken Deposit is overwhelmingly positive, however, any future economic studies will focus on a comparatively smaller-scale mining operation that will aim to lower capital expenditures, support positive social license, and optimize the economic output metrics. The strategic nature of the Viken Energy Metals Deposit cannot be understated as a Mineral Resource of important and critical raw materials for Sweden, Europe, and rest of the world that seeks to obtain a low to no carbon footprint. We have included additional important and critical raw materials in the current Viken MRE; however, the historical drill hole geochemical results did not include analysis on the full suite of Rare Earth Elements, which have potential to create additional value for future economic studies. We will make a decision on moving forward with a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Viken Deposit in Q4 2025, which will be influenced by the outcome of the Swedish Government's proposal to lift the current ban on uranium mining.\" The MRE for uranium oxide, in addition to vanadium oxide, molybdenum, nickel, copper and zinc is summarized in the Table 1 below. Additional elements reported (not contributing to the net smelter return (\" NSR \") value) are potassium oxide, phosphorous pentoxide, cesium oxide, yttrium oxide, and lanthanum oxide. Many of these Mineral Resource elements are listed by the European Union as Critical Raw Materials. Mineral Resources have been reported using an internal (processing plus G&A) US$22/tonne NSR cut-off. The Viken Deposit was previously subject to a historical Inferred Mineral Resource estimate of 3,019 Million Tonnes at an average grade 172 ppm U3O8 containing 1,145 Million Pounds U3O8, and a historical Indicated Mineral Resource estimate of 43 Million Tonnes at an average grade of 191 ppm U3O8 containing 18 Million Pounds U3O8. 2 In addition, a historical Inferred Mineral Resource estimate of 2,830 Million Tonnes at an average grade 2,680 ppm V2O5 containing 16,716 Million Pounds V2O5, and a historical Indicated Mineral Resource estimate of 23.6 Million Tonnes at an average grade of 3,130 ppm V2O5 containing 163 Million Pounds V2O5. 3 A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as a current Mineral Resource, and the Company is not treating these historical estimates as current Mineral Resources. Table 1: 2025 Pit-Constrained Mineral Resource Estimate for the Viken Deposit (1-7) Notes: The MRE has been prepared in accordance with NI 43-101, has effective date of April 25, 2025, and takes into account the results from a total of 122 drill holes (by previous operators between 2006 and 2012) on the Viken Property, which consists of the Viken nr 1, Norr Viken, Lill Viken, Norra Leden, and Storviken mineral licenses that are 100% owned by the Company. The spacing of the drill holes ranges from 30 to 380 metres and averages approximately 300 metres. The mineralized Alum Shale extends under the entire Viken Property and beyond its boundaries. The principal assay laboratory, ALS Minerals in Piteå, Sweden, used three different certified reference materials to monitor the accuracy of copper, nickel, uranium and zinc analytical results. Two of the standards were certified for copper, nickel and zinc, whereas the third one was certified for copper, nickel, uranium and zinc. For QA/QC purposes, every 25 th sample was sent to a second laboratory for re-analysis. Analyses were performed by ALS Chemex in Öjebyn and ALS Analytica in Luleå, Sweden. There were a total of 48 certified reference materials inserted by the lab for the drill programs. A Technical Report prepared in accordance with NI 43-101 on the MRE will be filed within 45 days of this news release on District's issuer profile on SEDAR+ at . Additional supporting details regarding the information in this news release, will be provided in the MRE Technical Report, including all qualifications, assumptions and exclusions that relate to the MRE. The MRE Technical Report is intended to be read as a whole, and sections should not be read or relied upon out of context. • "content": "Pietersen shared a picture from their exchange post the IPL 2025 match. However, it blew up on social media for all the wrong reasons. In the viral picture posted by Kevin Pietersen on X, he and Kohli can be seen sharing a close hug while seemingly talking about something. Netizens found the picture hilarious and broke into a relentless meme feast. From drawing parallels to the signature Indian couple pictures and the Internet-body Orry, to dragging Anushka Sharma into the matter, social media users had a gala time with the picture. Netizens tried grabbing Ankusha Sharma's attention to Pietersen's post and claimed she was“jealous” of RCB batter and the DC mentor. “Anushka Bhabhi Dekho,” a user said. Another added:“Anushka is already jealous.” Drawing parallels to the“Indian couple” pose, netizens said,“Indian husband wife ka signature pose.”“Typical indian pre-wedding photoshoot,” added another. Several users also created a 90s-style wedding video for the duo. Calling it the“perfect picture”, social media users said,“RRR is fictional, but VK-KP is original.” “Hum Delhi De Chuke Sanam! #RCBvDC,” said a netizen using a Bollywood reference. “Aao sunau pyar ki ek kahani, ek tha KP ek thi Kohli deewani,” another added. The most iconic memes were the ones which drew a parallel between Virat Kohli and Bollywood's BFF Orry. Amid the endless pictures social media users shared of Orry to prove their point, a user also posted an AI-generated image of Kohli and Pietersen morphed over the social media influencer's image. Scores in the range of 250 were a common occurrence last IPL but the slower nature of pitches has made batting tougher this season. Pietersen said a batter needs to be methodical to beat it. “On wickets like these (the one at Feroz Shah Kotla), you've got to be methodical, you've got to find rhythm. Virat (Kohli) found rhythm this evening,” he had said. “And I think that's where you see the true batter. The real batter that can come out there, and sort of monitor the situation, and it looks effortless...is it good for T20 cricket to have the occasional wicket like this? I don't think it's a bad thing,” he added. MENAFN29042025007365015876ID1109484168 Legal Disclaimer: MENAFN provides the information “as is” without warranty of any kind. • "content": "The Cannes Film Festival has put together a powerful jury for its 78th edition, including Halle Berry, Jeremy Strong and Payal Kapadia, reports 'Variety'. Mixing actors, filmmakers and authors, the jury will also comprise of South Korean filmmaker Hong Sangsoo, Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, French-Moroccan writer Leila Slimani, as well as Congolese director, documentarist and producer Dieudo Hamadi, as well as Mexican filmmaker and producer Carlos Reygadas. As previously announced, Juliette Binoche will preside over the jury, succeeding Greta Gerwig who handed out the Palme d'Or to Sean Baker's 'Anora'. As per 'Variety', both Strong and Kapadia were at Cannes last year, in competition. Strong presented Ali Abbasi's 'The Apprentice' in which he starred as Roy Cohn, while Kapadia was there with her fiction debut, 'All We Imagine as Light' which won the Grand Prize. Berry became the first African-American woman to win best actress at the Oscars for her performance in Marc Forster's 'Monster's Ball'. She directed her first film, 'Bruised', in 2020, and she has co-produced some of the films she stars in, most recently Alexandre Aja's 'Never Let Go'. Rohrwacher is a Cannes regular. She's presented several films in competition, notably 'The Wonders' and 'Happy as Lazzaro' and 'La Chimera' directed by her sister Alice Rohrwacher, along with Matteo Garrone's 'Tale of Tales' and Nanni Moretti's 'Tre Piani'. Sangsoo is another Cannes fixture. He presented four films in Competition and four films in the Un Certain Regard section. Hamadi presented his film 'Downstream to Kinshasa' at Cannes in 2020. Reygadas, meanwhile, has been at the festival many times, starting in 2005 with his second film 'Battle in Heaven' and he won best director with 'Post Tenebras Lux' in 2012. He's also co-produced films by Amat Escalante, Dea Kulumbegashvili, Christine Haroutounian and Hilal Baydarov. Reygadas is currently working on his next film, 'Wake of Umbra'. Slimani is a renowned book author who has been tied to the film world through her books. • "content": "GOTHENBURG, Sweden, April 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Volvo Cars today reports a group operating income (EBIT) of SEK 1.9 billion for the first quarter of 2025, following a drop in wholesales as part of a planned inventory reduction during Q4 last year, as well as adverse currency effects. The result also reflects the current turbulence in the world and a challenging external environment for the automotive industry. To protect profitability and drive structural efficiencies on direct and indirect costs, as well as helping to offset external headwinds, the company has launched an accelerated cost and cash action plan totalling SEK 18 billion. The majority of the effects from this plan will be realised in 2026. The plan includes SEK 3 billion in variable cost actions and SEK 5 billion in indirect spend efficiencies, half of which will impact EBIT already in 2026. Furthermore, SEK 10 billion will be added in additional cash actions to reduce working capital and capital expenditures during 2025 and 2026. The reductions in investments are in addition to the already planned lower investments going forward, as previously communicated. As part of the action plan, there will be redundancies at its operations around the globe, but the company will come back with more details as soon as possible. \"The automotive industry is in the middle of a very difficult period with challenges not seen before,\" said Håkan Samuelsson, Volvo Cars CEO. \"Over the last few weeks, I have worked with the management team and other colleagues on a plan to make the company stronger and more resilient. While our strategy is clear, we must get better at delivering results. Given the turbulence in the market, we need to further improve our cash flow generation and lower our costs. While we still have a lot to do, our direction going forward is focused on three areas: profitability, electrification and regionalisation.\" Volvo Cars remains firm on its ambition of becoming a fully electric car company. Fully electric is the fastest growing market segment and Volvo Cars is a leader in this transition. 43 per cent of all the Volvo cars sold in the first quarter were electrified, meaning fully electric or plug-in hybrid, with almost a fifth of sales fully electric. During the first quarter, Volvo Cars also launched its next fully electric software-defined car, the ES90. As Volvo Cars accelerates towards full electrification, its premium plug-in hybrids provide a pragmatic bridge for customers not yet ready to switch. Volvo Cars also sees a need to adapt to a more regionalised world. This includes a more focused approach for each region in terms of product, technology, manufacturing and commercial. The company will empower its regions to better meet the needs of its customers, ensuring it is resilient and fit for growth. The company will start by focusing on the US and China markets, as priorities. In China, it will adapt faster to the fast-changing auto sector and customer demands, and the company is looking into giving larger operational responsibility to the market. Volvo Cars will soon reveal its first extended range plug-in hybrid in China – a good example of its ability to tailor products to different demands in different markets. Volvo Cars is also undertaking a strategic restructuring of its operations in the US and has created a new region, called Americas. This region includes the US, Canada and the Latin America markets and will be led by Luis Rezende. At the same time, Mike Cottone will leave Volvo Cars and the company wishes to thank him for his almost 20 years of service. The restructuring further simplifies the company's global operations into three streamlined regions: Americas, Greater China, and Europe & Rest of the World. In the US, the company will sharpen the product line-up it needs for growth and how it can better use its existing manufacturing footprint there in the coming years – producing more cars where they are sold. Earlier this month, Volvo Cars started production of the important EX30 at its Ghent factory in Belgium. Q1 results breakdown The current turbulence in the broader world economy is reflected in the company's financial results for the first quarter. In terms of retail sales, the company sold 172,219 cars in the first quarter, a drop of 6 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. The result was also affected by currency effects and a 19 per cent drop in wholesale volumes after Volvo Cars lowered its inventories in Q4 last year. Revenues fell by 12 per cent to SEK 82.9 billion. The core EBIT of SEK 1.9 billion translated into a core operating profit margin of 2.3 per cent. At the same time, despite the drop in wholesales, the company improved its free cash flow, supported by improvements in working capital as well as the sale of its stake in Lynk & Co. Volvo Cars also continued its path towards electrification and its fully electric sales share of 19 per cent in Q1 remained the highest among its premium legacy competitors. More details on the first quarter performance can be found in Volvo Cars' full financial report: Results Centre | Volvo Cars Looking ahead 2025 will be a challenging and transition year given the uncertainties around macroeconomic, geopolitical and market developments. As Volvo Cars enters into the year, it sees that tougher market conditions and lower volumes combined with increased price pressure and tariff effects are impacting profitability. The company's long-term strategy, foundations for growth and path to improved profitability remain, and the accelerated cost and cash action plan has also been launched in order to further protect those elements. But given external developments and increased uncertainties, Volvo Cars is no longer providing financial guidance for 2025 and 2026. In recent years, Volvo Cars has made strong progress in electrification and it was one of the fastest growing premium car companies in the world. The company aims to continue in that direction with the right cars, a competitive cost base and increased resilience, and will continue to build a stronger, more efficient and more valuable Volvo Cars. Note to editors Håkan Samuelsson and chief financial officer Fredrik Hansson will host a livestream on Volvo Cars' Q1 2025 results for media, investors and analysts at 08:00 CET today. The presentation will be held in English and followed by a Q&A session. Dario Eklund, CEO of Santhera said: “The year 2024 marked a transformational period for Santhera, with the successful launch of AGAMREE® for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Germany and Austria, and in the U.S. by our licensing partner Catalyst Pharmaceuticals. Santhera ended the year in a strong position, having secured financing of up to CHF 69 million. This will support the Company's growth initiatives and provide liquidity through to 2026, by which point we expect to be cashflow break-even. Looking ahead to the rest of 2025 and beyond, we will be focused on the continued commercial rollout of AGAMREE to drive revenue growth and patient access. Alongside this we will be strategically pursuing complementary assets to expand our product portfolio, which will leverage our existing infrastructure. Our aims are clear: building Santhera into a leading specialty pharmaceutical company in rare diseases and creating long-term value for shareholders.” Operational Highlights (including post period end) Financial Highlights: Analyst Briefing Management will be hosting a briefing for analysts via a webcast at 14:00 CEST (08:00 ET) on 29 April 2025. Following regulatory approvals for AGAMREE® (vamorolone) in the U.S. and Europe at the end of 2023, Santhera initiated market access activities and product launches across key geographies. This commercial momentum was underpinned by strong partnerships, a focused strategy, and prudent financial and operational execution. The Company's lead product, AGAMREE, is the first and only approved dissociative corticosteroid designed to treat all patients 4 years of age and older with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) with an improved safety profile compared to traditional glucocorticoids. The successful European launches in Germany and Austria, together with the U.S. launch by partner Catalyst Pharmaceuticals, delivered on Santhera's strategic imperative to provide a differentiated therapy that meets the urgent needs of patients and caregivers. Additional regulatory and reimbursement milestones, including positive NICE guidance in the United Kingdom and marketing authorization in China, further reinforced AGAMREE's global potential. Financially, the Company secured additional funding to support ongoing operations and market launches and has guided to cash break-even by mid-2026. Total revenues for the year were CHF 39.1 million and included CHF 15.0 million from own market product sales driven by the successful launches in Germany and Austria. The year also marked important advances in manufacturing scale-up and supply chain management as well as long-term data generation. This will be important for the continued successful global rollout of AGAMREE over the coming years, as the Company seeks to maximize the potential of the drug in helping DMD patients globally. AGAMREE® commercial rollout The commercial rollout of AGAMREE in 2024 represented a landmark in Santhera's evolution. The Company's ability to translate clinical success into real-world patient access across multiple regions demonstrated both the clinical value of AGAMREE and Santhera's strong regulatory and commercial capabilities. In Europe, the product was first launched in Germany in January 2024. Germany, as the largest pharmaceutical market in Europe, served as a critical bellwether for AGAMREE's clinical adoption. By year-end, over 300 patients in Germany had transitioned to AGAMREE, representing approximately 30% of those currently treated with corticosteroids. This rapid uptake was supported by broad reimbursement agreements and favorable feedback from prescribers, highlighting AGAMREE's benefits in terms of bone health, growth, and behavior compared to traditional steroids. Austria followed closely behind, with national reimbursement secured and uptake gradually increasing as pre-scriber familiarity and patient demand grew. Parallel efforts were initiated in additional EU markets, with pricing and reimbursement negotiations advancing in Italy, Spain, Benelux, the Nordics and other EU countries. These launches are expected to progress through 2025 and 2026, in line with local market access and reimbursement negotiation timelines. In the United Kingdom, AGAMREE received Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency MHRA marketing authorization in January 2024. In December 2024 AGAMREE went on to receive a draft positive recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Following positive final guidance from NICE in January 2025 AGAMREE became available for prescription across the UK from April 2025. In North America, Santhera's U.S. licensee, Catalyst Pharmaceuticals (Catalyst), launched AGAMREE in March 2024 following FDA approval in October 2023. Catalyst reported strong early demand from the Duchenne community and healthcare providers, achieving USD 46 million in net sales by year-end. These results exceeded initial forecasts and reflect AGAMREE's strong positioning as a new standard of care for DMD patients. Based on current projections, Catalyst has provided guidance for 2025 sales of USD 100-110 million, which would trigger additional milestones for Santhera. In China, Santhera's partner Sperogenix Therapeutics initiated early access programs for AGAMREE in mid-2024, while awaiting full regulatory approval. In December, China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) granted marketing authorization for AGAMREE, positioning Sperogenix to launch commercially on a non-reimbursed basis during the latter half of 2025, with plans to secure reimbursement in early 2026. These early efforts will establish a critical foothold in one of the world's largest rare disease markets. The commercial launch of AGAMREE in 2024 underscored the global medical community's recognition of its differentiated clinical profile. Santhera continues to engage with clinicians, patient advocacy groups, and regulators to ensure rapid and equitable access to this important treatment globally, either directly or through its strategic partnerships. Market access and reimbursement Achieving broad and sustainable access for AGAMREE across international markets was a core priority for Santhera in 2024. Building on foundational work undertaken in the previous year, the Company advanced multiple national reimbursement submissions and pricing negotiations, positioning AGAMREE for long-term availability through public healthcare systems. In Germany, AGAMREE was granted full reimbursement under the AMNOG process following rapid consensus pricing negotiations with the GKV-SV. The product was listed with an agreed price supporting access for all eligible DMD patients. Santhera's early engagement with key opinion leaders and health authorities helped expedite access pathways and ensured clinical and economic evidence was well aligned with payer expectations. Austria followed a similar path, with positive decisions from the Hauptverband der österreichischen Sozialversi-cherungsträger (HVSV), enabling inclusion in the national reimbursement system. Santhera also initiated submissions in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, where national health authorities indicated a willingness to consider AGAMREE under existing frameworks for rare disease treatments. In the United Kingdom, NICE published its final guidance recommending AGAMREE as a cost-effective option for treating DMD in steroid-naive and previously treated patients. The appraisal committee recognized AGAMREE's differentiated benefit-risk profile, particularly around growth preservation, bone health, and behavior. In parallel, NHS England confirmed product inclusion in the national formulary, supporting broad patient access. In Spain and Italy, Santhera progressed dossier submissions and pricing negotiations with the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) and the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), respectively. Engagements with the Spanish regional authorities and Italian Technical-Scientific Committee (CTS) are ongoing and expected to lead to reimbursed access in 2025 or early 2026. In the Nordics, Santhera pursued market access pathways in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland through the Nordisk Läkemedelsstatistik collaboration. While timelines vary by country, all four health systems indicated interest in the treatment, particularly for pediatric patients transitioning from standard steroids. Outside of Europe, Santhera worked closely with its commercial partners to align reimbursement and pricing strategies. Catalyst in the U.S. undertook formulary negotiations with public and private payers, achieving broad coverage across Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and key commercial plans. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) classified AGAMREE as a preferred treatment for eligible pediatric DMD patients, supporting strong early adoption. In China, Sperogenix received marketing authorization approval from the NMPA in December 2024. The Company began preparation for provincial listing submissions, with initial pricing discussions proceeding during 2025. Full reimbursement is targeted for 2026 through China's National Reimbursement Drug List. Market access workstreams are ongoing across the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America to establish new distribution partners or additional regional licensees. These efforts are backed by a central medical affairs and health economics team based in Switzerland, who continue to develop real-world evidence packages and pharmacoeconomic dossiers to support local submissions. Santhera's commitment to access goes beyond pricing. The Company has established an early access framework in select countries and provided product through compassionate use programs where regulatory conditions allow. Additionally, educational outreach to clinicians, patient groups, and payer stakeholders has reinforced understanding of AGAMREE's clinical differentiation. Partnerships and licensing Santhera's commercial success in 2024 was underpinned by a robust network of strategic partnerships that continued to deliver value across core regions. These collaborations provided capital-efficient routes to market, accelerated geographic expansion, and strengthened global brand presence for AGAMREE. In the U.S., Catalyst led the commercial launch of AGAMREE following FDA approval. Under the licensing agreement, Santhera is eligible to receive low to high teens tiered royalties on U.S. net sales and up to USD 105 million in further commercial milestone payments. Catalyst's experienced rare disease commercial infrastructure proved instrumental in achieving USD 46 million in net sales in its first year, exceeding its market guidance. The partnership also supported post-marketing commitments and real-world data generation in the U.S. market. In China, Santhera's exclusive regional partner, Sperogenix Therapeutics, advanced AGAMREE towards commercialization following regulatory approval in late 2024. Sperogenix initiated early access programs and began preparing for commercial launch in the second half of 2025, with reimbursement planned for 2026. As with the Catalyst agreement, Santhera receives tiered royalties on sales as well as milestone payments relating to commercial success. In Europe, Santhera pursued a hybrid model of direct commercialization in key markets (e.g. Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland) and out-licensing or distribution agreements in secondary territories. Santhera entered into a distribution agreement with GENESIS Pharma SA in July 2024, for 20 markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Genesis has since successfully introduced AGAMREE in several of their markets, either via Named Patient Supply or via full reimbursement, with Slovenia being the first country in the territory to achieve the latter in April 2025. The two companies continue their close collaboration to ensure the availability of AGAMREE across all countries in the region. In 2024 the Company also signed regional distribution agreements covering the Israel and Qatar. These partnerships aim to extend AGAMREE's reach while ensuring efficient local market access and regulatory navigation. Santhera remains active in expanding territories through additional partnerships. Manufacturing and supply chain To support global expansion and ensure reliable, cost-effective product availability, Santhera advanced several critical initiatives related to AGAMREE's manufacturing and supply chain in 2024. The Company began validation of a second commercial-scale manufacturing site in Switzerland in partnership with a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). This site will operate in parallel with the existing facility in Europe and is expected to enhance supply chain resilience, reduce lead times, and lower manufacturing costs through process optimization and localization. In the United States, Catalyst progressed the qualification of a secondary manufacturing site within the U.S. to support growing demand and mitigate future supply risks. Santhera provided technical support for this initiative, which is expected to bring additional cost and logistical efficiencies to the North American supply chain. In China, Sperogenix entered early discussions with domestic CDMOs and regulatory authorities to establish a future manufacturing presence in-country, targeting local production readiness by 2028. This initiative is expected to support pricing and reimbursement discussions with Chinese authorities, where domestic sourcing is increasingly favored for essential medicines. Santhera also implemented upgraded quality assurance systems and added capacity in its global supply and logistics functions. Investments were made in digital tracking tools, demand forecasting models, and compliance systems to prepare for growing multi-market complexity. The Company's manufacturing strategy remains tightly aligned with its financial discipline, balancing scale-up investments with anticipated revenue growth and ensuring all supply decisions maintain quality, regulatory alignment, and cost-effectiveness. R&D strategy and pipeline development The Company will not be investing further in additional indication expansion for AGAMREE in the near term. However, the Company has an option to leverage indication expansion studies undertaken by its partners at a future date. The Company will however continue to use funds to focus on maximizing the opportunity with AGAMREE in DMD and will continue to generate additional evidence of long-term safety on the use of AGAMREE. The Company looks forward to long-term data readout from the GUARDIAN study, expected in Q4 2025. Santhera remains actively engaged in looking to expand its late-stage pipeline through licensing and distribution agreements, and potential M&A transactions. This would provide operational efficiency within its EU infrastructure leveraging the skill set that already exists within the business. The focus of this activity is on the rare disease field and for assets that have already completed clinical development, therefore not introducing clinical risk into the Company. Santhera is, however, happy to potentially take on regulatory risk due to the company's strength and expertise in the regulatory filing, reimbursement and approval process across Europe. Financial Review Financial Performance, Activities & Outlook In 2024, Santhera achieved a revenue of CHF 39.1 million and a net loss of CHF 42.0 million. The cash reserves of CHF 40.9 million at year-end 2024, together with 2025 product revenue, royalties and milestones, will enable the Company to fund operations towards cash break-even in 2026. 2024 full year revenue driven by strong underlying revenue growth In 2024, Santhera reported total revenue from contracts with customers of CHF 39.1 million (2023: CHF 103.4 million). Product sales of CHF 15.0 million (2023: CHF 0.8 million) were driven by the successful launch of AGAMREE in Germany and Austria. Royalties and milestones in the year amounted to CHF 16.9 million (2023: CHF 99.9 million), with 2023 revenues being bolstered by out-licensing milestones received from Catalyst in the U.S. and Sperogenix in China. Revenue from supply of product and services to partners was CHF 7.2 million (2023: CHF 2.7 million) Cost of sales Cost of goods sold amounted to CHF 15.5 million (2023: CHF 3.2 million), following the commencement of AGAMREE sales. Cost of goods includes CHF 5.0 million in intangible amortization (2023: CHF 2.4 million) and royalties payable of CHF 3.5 million (2023: nil) in addition to costs relating to product supplies and logistics. Operating expenses and result Operating expenses of CHF 57.0 million (2023: CHF 32.0 million). The year 2023 was positively impacted by a net gain of CHF 17.7 million on the sale of the idebenone business. Excluding this, 2024 operating expenses were 15% higher year-on-year, primarily due to increased development, marketing and sales expenses, partially offset by lower general and administrative expenses. Development expenses amounted to CHF 26.5 million (2023: CHF 18.7 million). Adjusting for inventory capitalization, these expenses increased by 24%, stemming from higher third-party clinical and regulatory services. These were largely related to the support of marketing authorization dossiers for AGAMREE in DMD with the authorities in the U.S., China, EU and UK ahead of approval, as well as post marketing long-term extension studies. Marketing and sales expenses were CHF11.0 million (2023: CHF 9.8 million). This represents an increase of 13% due to activities to support the launches in direct markets of AGAMREE offset by a reduction in expenses following the U.S. out-licensing. General and administrative expenses amounted to CHF 19.5 million (2023: CHF 21.2 million), a reduction year-on-year of 8%. This reflects the reduction of costs related to licensing activities in 2023, offset by financial activities and the addition of personnel in key functions in view of AGAMREE's launch in European markets. The operating result amounted to a loss of CHF 33.1 million (2023: income of CHF 68.8 million). Financial income and expenses The financial income in 2024 amounted to CHF 11.6 million (2023: CHF 19.4 million). The decrease was predominantly related to changes in fair value of financial instruments and in (un)realized foreign exchange gains. Financial expenses in 2024 were CHF 20.1 million (2023: CHF 33.4 million), primarily driven by lower interest and make-whole expenses as well as changes in fair value of financial instruments and in (un)realized foreign exchange losses This resulted in a net financial expense of CHF 8.5 million, a reduction of 39% on the previous year (2023: CHF 14.0 million), reflecting the overall change in funding structure. Net result The net result in 2024 was a loss of CHF 42.0 million, compared to a net income of CHF 54.8 million in the year 2023. Cash balance and cash flows As of December 31, 2024, the Company had cash and cash equivalents of CHF 40.9 million, compared to CHF 30.4 million as of December 31, 2023. Net cash outflow from operating activities amounted to CHF 35.5 million (2023: net cash inflow of CHF 47.3 million), the change mainly due to out-licensing receipts in 2023. Net cash flow used in investing activities was lower year-on-year and amounted to CHF 0.1 million (2023: CHF 18.0 million) with 2023 including the payments for intangibles. Net cash flow from financing activities in 2024 was CHF 46.1 million (2023: CHF -0.2 million). This was the net result of proceeds from financing transactions (involving warrants, term loan and royalty monetization) totaling CHF 60.1 million which was mainly offset by cash used for financing, above all the repayment of convertible bonds in the amount of CHF 13.5 million. In summary, the net increase in cash and cash equivalents in 2024 amounted to CHF 10.6 million (2023: net increase of CHF 29.0 million). Assets and liabilities Intangible assets decreased by CHF 5.0 million to CHF 68.9 million, reflecting amortization of AGAMREE intangible in use. Total assets increased to CHF 152.5 million (from CHF 109.6 million in 2023) and included an increase in inventory by CHF 15.7 million to CHF 17.5 million. Trade and other receivables increased by CHF 11.7 million to CHF 13.9 million, reflecting increases in milestones receivable and working capital during the commercialization stage. Total liabilities increased by CHF 75.1 million to CHF 124.8 million, mainly due to the new term loan and royalty monetization, offset by repayment of convertible bonds as well as working capital increases. Shareholders' equity Total consolidated equity as of December 31, 2024, amounted to CHF 27.7 million, compared to a total equity of CHF 60.0 million as of December 31, 2023. This was a result of the net loss for the period as well as the issue of equity during the year. Royalty and debt financing In August, Santhera announced the closing of two financing agreements that provided the Company with gross funding totaling approximately up to CHF 69 million. This comprised a new term loan agreement with Highbridge Capital Management LLC (Highbridge) and a royalty monetization agreement with R-Bridge (part of the CBC Group). Santhera received CHF 35 million through the senior secured loan from Highbridge. The loan has a four-year maturity and an interest rate of 3-month SARON plus 9.75%. The transaction additionally included changes to the existing CHF 7 million Highbridge private convertible bonds, that has a strike price of CHF 10.00, by extending it by 12 months to August 2025. Highbridge also received 236,540 new warrants at an exercise price of CHF 11.0975 and at the same time converted a CHF 4 million bond with a strike price of CHF 5.00. R-Bridge, upon closing of the royalty monetization financing agreement, paid Santhera an upfront of USD 30 million. It will additionally make staged sales-related milestone payments that, if achieved, would result in total payments to Santhera of a further USD 8 million. The royalty agreement with R-Bridge is partial and capped. Santhera is monetizing 75% of the future royalty income streams (net of any agreed payment obligations of Santhera to ReveraGen and Idorsia) from its licensing agreements for AGAMREE with Catalyst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and with Sperogenix Therapeutics Ltd., in respect of net product sales occurring from July 1, 2024. Once the agreed threshold or duration of royalty payments is met, the North America and China royalty payments will revert back to Santhera. In addition, Santhera retained certain rights to buy back the royalty income stream. Together with existing cash resources, these two agreements will support the Company's growth initiatives, repay the CHF 13.5 million of listed convertible bonds that matured in August 2024 and provide liquidity through to the first half of 2026, at which point Santhera expects to be cash flow break-even. ReveraGen and Idorsia Agreements On originally acquiring the rights to AGAMREE, as previously announced, sales milestones and net sales royalties are paid to both ReveraGen and Idorsia. These royalty payments, totaling a mid to high single digit percentage of net sales, are booked to cost of sales along with any milestones that fall due. Post period end, in January 2025 Idorsia announced that it had sold R-Bridge the rights to future AGAMREE sales milestones and royalties through a royalty monetization agreement. The impact of this is that Idorsia is now solely a shareholder in the company with no other financial interest and that R-Bridge will now receive royalty and milestone payments (alongside ReveraGen) in addition to royalties paid under the royalty monetization agreement signed in August 2024, described above. Share capital, treasury shares and warrants As of December 31, 2024, issued share capital consisted of 13,433,343 shares with a total nominal value of CHF 1,343,334 (nominal value CHF 0.10 per share), and the Company held 647,586 treasury shares with total nominal value of CHF 64,759 for future equity-based financings. The Company also had 916,205 warrants in issue, including 221,161 at a strike price of CHF 9.04 which have been exercised since the year end, with the remainder outstanding comprising 221,161 at a strike price of CHF 9.04, 236,540 at a strike price of CHF 11.0975 and 458,506 at a strike price of CHF 20. Financial guidance and outlook Santhera expects continued strong growth in sales during 2025 as global rollout continues and gathers pace. Total revenues in 2025 are expected to be in the CHF 65-70 million range. Operating expenses (SG&A and R&D) for 2025, and going forward on a constant portfolio basis and excluding non-cash share based compensation, are expected to be in the range of CHF 50-55 million. Looking to the future, for 2028 Santhera is guiding to total revenues, excluding milestones, of EUR 150 million. This includes direct and distributor market sales as well as royalty income from North America and China. By 2030 Santhera expects revenues in its own direct markets (excluding distributor revenues as well as royalties and milestones from its U.S. and Chinese licensing partners) to be greater than EUR 150 million. • "content": "He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in Tehran, while elaborating on the country's demands in the Omani-mediated negotiations with the United States, of which three rounds have been held so far, two in the Omani capital, Muscat, on Apr 12 and Apr 26, respectively, and another in Rome on Apr 19. Baghaei said, the details of any negotiations should be within the framework of the general outlines, already agreed on by the two sides, adding,“Thus, no agreement will be reached unless Iran's desired general framework is taken into account.” Baghaei stressed that, technical consultations would be held simultaneously at each stage of the negotiations. He also underscored that,“ending the sanctions effectively is a keyword” and that having access to Iran's“illegally and unjustly” frozen assets is among his country's serious demands in the talks. Baghaei noted that a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency arrived in Tehran earlier in the day, for technical talks with Iranian experts on a number of topics, including the safeguards issues.– NNN-IRNA MENAFN29042025000200011047ID1109483985 Legal Disclaimer: MENAFN provides the information “as is” without warranty of any kind.
